Why eBikes?
First, let’s make sure we’re all understanding what we’re talking about. Technically, an eBike can be any bike that includes an electric drive.
But not all eBikes are the same.
Some have throttle control and can do all the work; in that case, having pedals seems kinda silly. That’s not the kind of eBike we’re talking about. Our fleet of eBikes are REAL bikes that you pedal if you want to get somewhere. The difference between our eBikes and a “regular” bike is that, as you pedal on an eBike, the bike gives your legs a bit (or a lot) of help when you want it. You gotta LOVE that!
So, why are our eBikes perfect for our trips?
Leveling the playing field
eBikes provide just the right amount of assist for each person. Stronger riders may opt for less assist; others may want all the power the bike can offer. Having this equalizer allows the group to stay together; no one lags behind or is forced to struggle beyond what is comfortable.
We set up your bike to best suit your needs. Want lots of assist? That’s what you’ll get. Want less assist except when you really needed it? We can do that too.
Custom settings for everyone; now that’s really leveling the playing field.
Suffering: yes/no
eBikes remove as much suffering as you want. Let’s be frank, cresting a summit can be incredibly rewarding, but getting there can be terribly painful. But pedal assist—lots of assist if that’s what’s called for—takes away the suffering, leaving all the pleasure and thrill. Ebiking is cycling joy at its purest. Until you know the thrill of going up a mountain pass at a steady pace without suffering, you may not know how much of a game-changer it can be.
And if you’re worried about running out of battery, don’t be. We carry extras!
Limitless adventure
Having eBikes means the difference between avoiding difficulty routes and seeking them out. One of the most important factors when planning a route is focus on elevation gain. You may want to go over that mountain-top goat path, but can your legs get you there? Remove that concern and a new world of route planning opens. Instead of avoiding too-difficult climbs, you seek them out. Instead of taking the long way around, you point your bike toward the sky.
Move over mountain goats, eBike Nomads are coming through.
We explore
We observe
We experience
It’s the reason we seek out new places, new cultures, new experiences.
We yearn to grow.
Ebike Nomads doesn’t offer dozens of trips to dozens of places. Rather, we plan a new grand exploration each year and we invite a few like-minded people to join us. In 2023, we start in Tuscany for two blissful weeks. Then we relocate to Verona and head North across the Alps, arriving in Prague three weeks later. After a short break, we circle back, starting in Vienna, then follow the Danube, cross the Alps again, and wander through Slovenia and the Dolomites before finding our way back to Italy. In fall, we head back to Tuscany for one week and add another in Umbria.
One grand adventure, 10 weeks biking in some of the most amazing places on Earth. It’s the exploration we wanted to do this year, so we’re doing it—and we’re inviting six guests each trip to journey with us.
We use e-bikes exclusively, because bikes set the perfect pace and electric assist let us traverse mountain paths and passes without having physical limitations set the route. We support riders with an always-near vehicle because logistics is critical and safety is paramount. And we recover each night at amazing hotels because it’s a luxury we earn.
Amazing days, spectacular places, luxurious rest, and a yearning for what the next day’s exploration will reveal. That’s our nomad experience. Come and join our little clan for a week or an extended journey. We’d love to share our grand adventures with you.
