Swiss Alps

Cycling in the Alps. The Swiss Alps is famous for its high peaks and meadows, as wells as the verdant valleys that flow between them. And connecting all of these amazing places is a network of small lanes that meander in all directions high and low. We’ll spend most of our cycling adventures exploring these hidden lanes, taking us through landscapes where wildflowers, farms, and animals extend as far as the eye can see. Traveling from village to village, field to field, we’ll be tempted to stop so often to take in the sights that we’ll wonder if we’ll ever reach our destination. But the destination isn’t really important at all if every view along the way beckons us with the same determination.

Mountains, meadows, and the Glacier Express. We’ll have two base locations for this trip, Zermatt and Andermatt, but we won’t limit our exploration to the mountains, villages, and valleys that surround those two spectacular locations. Yes, we’ll take gondolas from towns to highest peaks, and we’ll ride bikes as far into the wilderness as time and access allows, but when we’re ready to pick up and move our base, we’ll do it in true Swiss style: via the Glacier Express Rail Train built specifically to bring visitors deep into Switzerland’s extraordinary mountain terrain. Winding its way through and around the Alps, our glass-bubble luxury car will keep our heads spinning from left to right, noses pressed to glass on either side. And don’t worry about disturbing your fellow passengers, they’ll likely be doing the same happy dance as you.
