”What’s not to like about riding ebkes in Europe? I joined eBike Nomads for two trips through Italy, Austria, and Germany and everything was amazing – the hotels, the food, the beauty – just everything! But what surprised me most was the extensive network of bike paths and lanes that we could ride without having to worry about cars. Dave must have some sort of superpower to find so many incredible off-the-beaten-path lanes. As a person who really doesn’t like riding with cars, that was a dream come true.” — Nancy M.

“What an amazing experience, to see the backroads and bike trails of Italy and Austria from a bike! We definitely got away from the tourist trail, met locals and enjoyed Europe as it is. I loved stopping at little bike-trail-side gelato stands in quaint towns. Every castle and town square was more interesting than the next. Thanks for the adventure, eBike Nomads!”  — Amelia A.

Our eBikes Are Perfect for Our Trips

Leveling the playing field

Ebikes provide just the right amount of assist for each person. Stronger riders may opt for less assist; others may want all the power the bike can offer. Having this equalizer allows the group to stay together; no one lags behind or is forced to struggle beyond what is comfortable.

Suffering: yes/no

Let’s be frank, cresting a summit can be incredibly rewarding, but getting there can be painful. But ebike pedal assist—lots of assist if that’s what’s called for—takes away the suffering, leaving all the pleasure and thrill. Ebiking is cycling joy at its purest.

Limitless adventure

One of the most important factors when planning a route is focus on grade and elevation gain. Remove that concern and a new world of route planning opens up. Instead of avoiding too-difficult climbs, we can seek them out and point our bikes toward the sky.

Our Perfect Wedding Gift

“My fiancé Ben and I joined eBike Nomads for a trip through Austria and Germany as a pre-wedding gift, which was truly the BEST gift I have ever received. We both love to cycle, so everything about this trip was a dream come true. Every day of our trip was spectacular, but it was the first that set the tone and taught us how lucky we were to be with eBike Nomads.

The plan that first day was to get together, fit us on our bikes, then take a ride through the hillside surrounding Lienz, Austria. The weather, however, chose not to cooperate. Dave Garcia, our tour leader, called us together and suggested we hop a train for the short trip to San Candido, Italy (an amazing town high in the Dolomites), do some sightseeing, have lunch, then return in the afternoon to reassess. We didn’t expect to go to Italy on this trip, so we followed his recommendation.

When we returned that afternoon, the sky had lifted, and the rain had paused. Hoping for the best, we grabbed rain jackets (bought earlier in the day in San Candido!), hopped on our bikes, and took off on a shortened route that Dave had quickly improvised. From our hotel in the center of town, he crossed the river and led us up the mountain to the south. And by up, I mean STRAIGHT UP—on a grade that immediately taught us what our great ebikes were capable of and how much fun they were to ride. I love my bike at home, but if it had a boost mode like eBike Nomads’ bikes, my life would be way more epic! Boost mode is THE BEST, and I’ve truly never had so much fun on a bike.

We had an amazing ride, first hunting for a church peeking out above us, then flying back down across hills and fields, past water wheels, through idyllic villages, across a swaying suspension bridge, and finally past a castle looming above our forest path. We had mentally prepared for a soggy, rainy, boring day, but instead, got one of the best travel memories you could possibly imagine.

I’m not sure what magic Dave worked while planning (and often last-minute changing) routes, but somehow EVERY DAY seemed better than the previous. We stayed in the most delightful hotels, ate mind-blowingly delicious food, and he even accommodated my request to go swimming in a fairytale-worthy lake, changing our whole day’s agenda just for me.

Thanks, eBike Nomads for an amazing, special, personal trip that we’ll FOREVER treasure as part of our wedding story.”  — Nivi A.
